Rose is from Sulawesi, Indonesia and brings that culture with her. Indonesia, like Australia, is a multicultural, diverse country composed of many ethnic groups with different languages, cultures and religions.

Batik textiles are a way for domestic companies to set themselves apart as the ‘authentic’ producers of the traditional Indonesian cloth, painted or printed.

Indonesian textiles companies have been quick to align themselves with international industry standards by making the necessary investments to achieve certifications such as ISO 9001 as well as gain recognition for sustainable and environmentally friendly production.


Indonesia has a nationally regulated minimum wage and child labour is illegal!

 

OUR PHILOSOPHY


All Indonesians hold “Pancasila’s” 5 principles as sacred, the philosophical basis of the Indonesian state.

1. Belief in the One and Only God. (regardless of religion, all worship the One Creator)
2. A Just and Civilized humanity (Indonesian people do not tolerate physical or spiritual oppression of human beings by their own people or by any other nation.)
3. Unity.
4. Democracy guided by Inner Wisdom from the unanimity arising from consultations among representatives.
5. Social Justice for all the people of Indonesia. (Social Justice implies protection of the weak and prevents wilful treatment by the strong, ensuring the rule of justice.)

The World is a Tribe and deserves these principles, Unity and Justice for all on Earth. “The earth is but one country and mankind it’s citizens” (Baha’u’llah) has the aim of supporting regional craftsmen in their continuing work to support their families and communities. We intend to contribute a percentage of our sales to helping women and children in remote areas.
